Outside the Lines is the first in an annual series of EPs supporting the best emerging artists on the contemporary classical scene.

The artists whose tracks appear on the release include the cello trio Tre Voci with 'Modus Triplex' by Alex Nikiporenko, recently shortlisted for a British Composer Award in the Small Chamber category. Other artists included are electronic artist Tom Richards and the Tempest Flute Trio, the clarinet and percussion ensemble NasDUO, Dani Howard and Mathis Nitschke together with cellist Anja Lechner.
