I Will Fix Myself (Just Circles)

A 1 track electronic single (5m 16s) — released April 6th 2023 on nonclassical

Australian born UK-based pianist, composer and technologist Zubin Kanga blurs the boundaries between music and technology in his latest album Machine Dreams. Released on 20 April via Nonclassical, this ten-track album inspired by cyborgs and other sci-fi themes, features music from a host of internationally acclaimed experimental and cutting-edge composers.

A fearless advocate of the new and unknown, Kanga commissioned Machine Dreams as part of Cyborg Soloists; a four-year UK Research and Innovation Future Leaders Fellowship research project, hosted by London's Royal Holloway University. At the forefront of curating and creating interdisciplinary musical programmes for over a decade, Kanga's new album draws together classic synthesizers and pioneering sensor technology, unlocking new possibilities in music making through interactions with AI and machine learning; interactive visuals and VR; motion and biosensors; and new hybrid instruments.

Nwando Ebizie's I Will Fix Myself (Just Circles) explores Kanga's relationship to the piano, combining interview materials and AI-generated speech with a Moog synth and complex Afrofuturist electronic textures in an exploration of the performer's body and technique.

As well as championing education about neurodiversity and hidden disabilities, Ebizie also emphasises the financial barrier to experiencing and participating in art - Interview with Skye Butchard The Quietus

phenomenal composition, articulating something spiritual and defiant - Siobhan Kane The Quietus

When Ebizie performs, she is a celebrant who conjures up a spirit, often from the ritual cultures of the Black Atlantic with their rich pantheon of characters and archetypes. Her powerful personas challenge and investigate the lies from colonial times – and persist today – that Africa had no culture, no spirituality, no art. - Deborah Mulhearn Big Issue North
