Bad Infinity
A 1 track twenty-first century single (2m 16s) — released April 13th 2023 on nonclassical
Australian born UK-based pianist, composer and technologist Zubin Kanga blurs the boundaries between music and technology in his latest album Machine Dreams. Released on 20 April via Nonclassical, this ten-track album inspired by cyborgs and other sci-fi themes, features music from a host of internationally acclaimed experimental and cutting-edge composers. A fearless advocate of the new and unknown, Kanga commissioned Machine Dreams as part of Cyborg Soloists; a four-year UK Research and Innovation Future Leaders Fellowship research project, hosted by London's Royal Holloway University. At the forefront of curating and creating interdisciplinary musical programmes for over a decade, Kanga's new album draws together classic synthesizers and pioneering sensor technology, unlocking new possibilities in music making through interactions with AI and machine learning; interactive visuals and VR; motion and biosensors; and new hybrid instruments.
Ben Nobuto combines a TouchKeys keyboard alongside other keyboards and Kanga's voice in Bad Infinity, a playful rhythmic study in which speech rhythms combine with samplers to create a cyborg composite.
